John D. Cochran

Managing Director

John is a Managing Director of LMP and a member of its Investment Committee. John joined the firm in 2008 and is based in Los Angeles.  His primary responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, executing transactions and working closely with executive management of portfolio companies.  John has also led LMP’s activities in the commercial banking sector.

Prior to joining LMP, John was a Principal at SV Investment Partners (formerly Schroder Ventures US), a private equity firm focused on investing in mid-market business services companies.  In his six years at SV, John worked on numerous transactions and financings and actively supported portfolio company management teams in building their businesses.  Prior to SV, John was an analyst with J.W. Childs Associates, a middle market private equity firm with over $3 billion of assets under management, and a financial analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Salomon Brothers Inc.

John received an MBA and a Masters degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University and holds a BA in English from the University of California, Los Angeles.  John is a member of the Boards of Directors of Seaside National Bank & Trust and Mercer Advisors.
