Jay joined LMP as General Counsel in 1999. Jay has over 30 years of experience in sophisticated corporate and securities transactions, with an emphasis on private equity investing in the asset management industry.  His experience as a counselor at law has regularly involved providing advice to Boards of Directors, CEOs and senior executives on corporate strategic planning, transaction structuring and mergers and acquisitions.  Jay has served as senior legal advisor in connection with a number of major corporate transactions involving asset management companies.

Jay is a member of the bars of the States of California, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas and Missouri.  Jay received a J.D. degree from Harvard University and a B.A. degree from Graceland University, where he later received an Honorary Doctorate of Law.

Jay is a Member of the Boards of Directors of Clarivest Asset Management, Dahlman Rose & Co., and Mercer Advisors.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors of SkillPath Seminars, and the Boards of Trustees of Graceland University, The Hubbard Foundation, and The Linde Foundation.
