James E. Minnick

President
Managing Director

Jim joined LMP as President in 1999.  Prior to joining LMP, Jim was the President and CEO of Morgan Grenfell Capital Management ("MGCM"), the U.S. subsidiary of the global asset management firm of Morgan Grenfell Asset Management, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bank.

Under Jim's leadership, MGCM grew its assets under management from under $3 billion in 1987 to over $30 billion in 1999.  This growth in assets was the result of expanding investment products and leveraging the firm's strong institutional presence to establish new distribution channels.  Product expansions included a start-up fixed income business which grew to over $17 billion in assets and the establishment of a family of mutual funds distributed through the registered investment advisor channel.  The firm also built a presence in the high net worth and retail fund sub-advisory markets.

Before joining Morgan Grenfell, Jim was Executive Vice President at SEI Investments responsible for the investment consulting business, marketing and product development.  While at SEI, he held national and regional management roles. Prior to his employment at SEI, Jim was employed by an economic consulting firm and resided in Luxembourg.

Jim's education includes undergraduate work at the United States Air Force Academy and the University of Denver where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.  Jim is a member of the Board of Directors of Clarivest Asset Management.  He also chairs the Board of Visitors for the Department of Neurosurgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
