Founded in 1995, Leerink has over 200 full time employees spread across its offices in Boston, New York, and San Francisco. 

In 2007, Lovell Minnick Partners completed a growth capital investment in the Company, and made a follow-on investment in 2011.  Leerink reacquired LMP's equity interest in April 2013.
