Company Description
San Diego-based ClariVest, which stands for Clarity in Investing, is an institutionally oriented investment management firm that blends a quantitative approach of bottom-up stock selection with economically intuitive criteria and a robust portfolio construction method. ClariVest manages US, international, and global equity portfolios across the market capitalization spectrum.
In March 2006, LMP teamed with six former senior members of the Systematic Business at a large financial institution to start a new independent quantitative investment management business. LMP provided the necessary startup capital, in addition to assisting with the establishment of outsourced administrative, compliance and marketing relationships to allow the investment team to focus on portfolio management. The management team, all of whom are trained programmers and mathematicians, have developed new proprietary programs and enhanced quantitative tools since their departure and are now implementing these investment strategies. ClariVest expanded rapidly since inception and grew its assets under management to over $3 billion.
In December 2012, LMP sold its interest to Eagle Asset Management, a subsidiary of Raymond James Financial (NYSE: RJF).
